Licence Physique, Parcours : physique-chimie

  • AIMS

    A bi-disciplinary approach.

    After a first year in one of the two scientific portals: Marie Curie or René Descartes, the last two years of the "Physics-Chemistry" programme offer a bi-disciplinary approach based on the complementarity of the two disciplines, which are necessary for the understanding of many scientific phenomena.

    The courses offered in the "Physics-Chemistry" programme provide a foundation of fundamental knowledge in physics and chemistry and link the two disciplines through cross-disciplinary teaching units throughout the programme.

    The courses cover the entire programme of the CAPES in Physics and Chemistry.

    The 'Physics-Chemistry' pathway, which begins in L2 and continues in L3, allows students to enter the MEEF Masters (teaching) and is also particularly well suited to further study in many Masters in the physical sciences or in generalist grandes écoles.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    Access to the Physics-Chemistry pathway of the Physics degree requires validation of the L2 Physics, Physics-Chemistry pathway or the L2 Chemistry, Physics-Chemistry pathway of Aix-Marseille university or a diploma judged to be equivalent by the Licence's teaching commission.

    Admission to L3 Physics-Chemistry is also possible for students from CPGE, engineering schools or IUT, on examination of the file

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    The Physics-Chemistry pathway of the Physics degree requires very good skills in physics and chemistry as well as a good level of math.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

    Because of its fundamental training vocation leading in particular to the research fields, the Physics licence offers the possibility of carrying out laboratory experiments and internships at all levels of the training.

    The Physics licence is based on the broad and diversified potential of the Physics and Chemistry departments.

    To achieve this, the Physics-Chemistry pathway of the Physics degree relies on the wide and diversified potential of the Physics and Chemistry departments of Aix-Marseille university. The teacher-researchers, actors of this training, allow to associate the fundamental teachings with the stakes of the current Research and its applications beyond the public sector.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    The "Physics-Chemistry" course provides students with the knowledge to solve problems in physics, chemistry and their interfaces by mobilising and articulating the fundamental knowledge and know-how specific to these two disciplines.

    The specific skills developed in this course are

    Solving physics and chemistry problems;
    To transmit in a rigorous and pedagogical way the fundamental knowledge of Chemistry, Physics and at the interface between the two;
    To mobilise one's disciplinary knowledge in physics and chemistry to argue and solve a problem in a bi-disciplinary way.

  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    The "Physics-Chemistry" programme does not include a compulsory internship. However, a non-credited internship in one of the laboratories associated with the course may be carried out under an agreement between the university and the host organisation.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

    The teaching provided in the "Physics-Chemistry" programme includes lectures (80 students maximum), tutorials and practical work in small groups. The programme places great emphasis on the use of innovative teaching methods and active teaching methods (project or problem-based approaches, flipped classes), as well as on ICT (online resources and tools for communicating with students, assessment tests, digital remediation).

  • OFFSITE TEACHING

    The Physics-Chemistry course is offered as distance learning.
