Licence Chimie, Parcours : Physique-Chimie

  • AIMS

After a first year in one of the two scientific portals: Marie Curie or Louis Pasteur, the Physics-Chemistry course of the Chemistry degree aims to offer students a solid base of fundamental knowledge and skills in all the disciplines of Chemistry and Physics, thus enabling them to acquire the specific foundations of each of these disciplines.

The main objective of this course is to train students for further study within the Masters programmes of our University, as well as for courses offered by other higher education establishments, universities or engineering schools. It also provides access to the courses offered by the INSPE.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

In order to enter the Physics-Chemistry course of the Chemistry degree in L2, candidates must justify the validation of a 1st year of scientific studies in Chemistry or equivalent (Preliminary classes, 1st year of scientific studies in Chemistry or equivalent); The candidate must have completed a first year of scientific studies in Chemistry or its equivalent (preparatory classes, first year of IUT or BTS in Chemistry, PACES). Access to the 3rd year of the licence is subject to an examination of the candidate's file by a pedagogical commission.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

All L1 modules of Marie Curie portal.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

The Physics-Chemistry course is supported by research laboratories of national and international renown in which all of the teacher-researchers involved in our courses work: https://chimie-sciences.univ-amu.fr/recherche and https://physique-sciences.univ-amu.fr/recherche

The support provided by these laboratories is also manifested by the hosting of students during research internships, starting in the first year of the degree course.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Develop a complete scientific, theoretical and/or experimental investigation, starting from a correctly posed problem in chemistry
    • Design and carry out a chemistry project independently, individually or collectively, promoting the discovery and understanding of chemical phases
    • Develop a project that facilitates integration into a professional organisation or further study and an ethos that promotes responsibility
    • Researching problems in physics, chemistry and their interfaces through the mobilisation and articulation of fundamental knowledge and know-how specific to these two disciplines
  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

We do not offer a compulsory internship during our degree, but strongly advise our students to arrange an internship on a voluntary and motivational basis.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

This will be done through final exams at the end of each semester, but also through continuous assessment throughout the semester concerned by the teaching in question. This continuous assessment may take several possible forms (oral, partial, report, poster) but will be clearly displayed in all teaching units.

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

The 1st year of the Licence is open by right to any holder of a baccalaureate or a diploma admitted in equivalence (including from abroad), the bac; mainly scientific options (combination of expert or complementary mathematics, physics-chemistry, engineering sciences, life and earth sciences) are strongly advised.

For students enrolled in CPGE, IUT and BTS, admission to L2 or L3 is also possible on the basis of an application file after the opinion of the educational commission.

The students must be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the programme.
