  • AIMS

After a first year in one of the two scientific portals: Marie Curie or Louis Pasteur, the process engineering course of the chemistry degree allows students to specialise in the field of chemical engineering, process engineering by acquiring the fundamental, technological and practical knowledge necessary for the design, implementation and optimisation of industrial processes for the transformation of matter and energy, while at the same time making them aware of the environmental aspects and sustainable development The objective of the course is to

to introduce students to the specific methodologies and tools of process engineering,
to acquire the first approaches to unit operations and transformation of matter, transfer phenomena (matter, energy, fluid mechanics)
acquire a practical approach to the discipline (practical work, visits to industrial sites, etc.)

The training is completed by fundamental and practical chemistry lessons (chemical kinetics, thermochemistry, analytical chemistry).

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

In order to enter the Chemistry licence in L2, candidates must justify the validation of a 1st year of scientific studies in Chemistry or equivalent (Classes préparatoires, 1st year of IUT or BTS Chemistry, PACES). Access to the 3rd year of the licence is subject to an examination of the candidate's file by a pedagogical commission.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

All L1 modules, Marie Curie portal or Louis Pasteur portal.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

The Chemistry degree, and in particular the Process Management course, is supported by nationally and internationally renowned research laboratories in which all the teacher-researchers involved in our courses work: https://chimie-sciences.univ-amu.fr/recherche

The support provided by these laboratories is manifested by the hosting of students during research internships and this from the 1st year of the licence or through the tutorial projects of the 1st (Louis Pasteur Portal) or 2nd year of the licence.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Develop a complete scientific, theoretical and/or experimental investigation, starting from a correctly posed problem in chemistry
    • Design and carry out a chemistry project independently, individually or collectively, promoting the discovery and understanding of chemical phases
    • Develop a project that facilitates integration into a professional organisation or further study and an ethos that promotes empowerment
    • Design, implement and optimise industrial processes for the transformation of materials and energy through the application of multidisciplinary, theoretical and experimental knowledge and know-how
  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

Tutorial projects are important in the 1st year of the Louis Pasteur portal in the form of a playful discovery of chemistry and in the 2nd year within the framework of a DEcouverte du Monde Scientifique (DEMOS). The internships are not compulsory, but are strongly recommended from the first year onwards.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

Throughout the Chemistry degree, the evaluation will be carried out through final examinations at the end of each semester but also through continuous assessment throughout the semester concerned by the teaching considered. This continuous assessment may take several possible forms (oral, partial, report, poster) but will be clearly displayed in all teaching units.

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

The 1st year of the licence is open by right to any holder of a baccalaureate or a diploma admitted in equivalence (including from abroad), the bac; mainly scientific options (combination of expert or complementary maths, physics-chemistry, engineering sciences, life and earth sciences) strongly advised.

For students enrolled in CPGE, IUT and BTS, admission to L2 or L3 is also possible on the basis of an application file after the opinion of the pedagogical commission.
