TIGER Project

The TIGER (Transform and Innovate in Graduate Education with Research) project is part of the France 2030 government investment plan, specifically under the “Major Research Universities” initiative funded bythe National Research Agency (ANR).

The project’s goal is to support the transformation of Master’s-level degree programs by strengthening the link between education and research through one or more focus areas (Research, Internationalization, and Socioeconomic and Cultural Contexts).

The programs involved are committed to strengthening the link between education and research by establishing:

  • one or more course units on “conducting a scientific project” equivalent to a minimum of 12 credits (M1+M2),
  • 3 skill modules related to the field of research,
  • a Cum Laude program recognizing students who demonstrate the greatest aptitude for research.

The objectives of these enhancements can be summarized as follows:

  • Research: Strengthen education through and for research to ensure more effective training and the acquisition of new skills,
  • Internationalization: Increase our students’ international mobility through scholarship programs and the strengthening of international partnerships between universities,
  • Socio-Economic and Cultural Sphere (MSEetC): To offer students opportunities to work with stakeholders in the MSEetC and raise their awareness of entrepreneurship.

The TIGER project is supported by AMU’s institutional institutes. These are entities that combine high-level teaching (in collaboration with the university’s academic units) and research (in conjunction with laboratories) around interdisciplinary themes.

The Faculty of Sciences is involved in 15 of the 19 university-wide institutes.
