  • AIMS

After a first year in the Louis Pasteur scientific portal, the last two years of the Life Sciences bachelor's degree in Physiology and Functional Genomics (PGF) aims to train students in the fields of Biology by developing knowledge and skills in human physiology, physio-pathologies, biotechnologies, evolutionary functional genomics, epigenetics, pharmacology, bio-statistics. The aim of the training is to understand living things in an integrated way, based on molecular and cellular knowledge, in order to characterize their functioning at the scale of an organism and in particular of humans. This training is based on innovative pedagogies using the latest results of scientific research and analyzing them in depth. It also makes it possible to work in a project team (through a compulsory internship or work to create an activity) on themes related to physiology, physiopathology, functional genomics and evolution and to directly implement the project developed. It facilitates the acquisition of transversal skills (learning languages, communication tools, job search techniques, knowledge of skills acquisition objectives in the aforementioned fields. The "Physiology and Functional Genomics" course allows the 'student :

to have theoretical and practical training in the most recent fields of physiology, physiopathology and genomics.
to acquire the ability to observe, make assumptions, experiment, analyze, work in a team, and finalize a project.

Throughout his course, the student develops skills that allow him to match his training and his professional project.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

To access the course, it will be necessary to have validated at least 60 credits (L& or DUT 1 or BTS 1 or CPGE 1) to access L2 or to have validated 180 credits to enter L3.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

Scientific prerequisites from training in the field of biology, chemistry or health are recommended.

  • LEARNING SITES

    • SCIENCES, Marseille St-Charles
      Aux semestres 5 et 6.
  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

The “Physiology and Functional Genomics” course of the “Life Sciences” license can provide access to the AMU Biology Masters and any other Masters in the field of Biology. It is particularly open to the Master's in Integrative Biology Physiology, the Master's in Bioinformatics, the Master's in Structural Biology and Genomics, the Master's in Quality and Neurosciences (sensory analysis course). It also leads to the Health Biology Master's degree in the Health sector.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

The skills to be acquired by the “Physiology and Functional Genomics” course are as follows:

Mastering and mobilizing the knowledge attached to the normal and pathological integrated functioning of living beings (Mammals/Humans) based in particular on knowledge of the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of evolution.
    Be introduced to project management
Develop a critical spirit in the service of the progression of knowledge
Develop the tools to bring your professional project to fruition

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

The training will take place in face-to-face and distance learning (EAD).
He will use classic pedagogy (Course, TD, TP) but also innovative pedagogies in small groups to put the student in "action" mode and making him an actor in the acquisition of his knowledge.
