Master Cinéma et Audiovisuel, Parcours : Ecritures critiques, recherche et didactique de l'image

Le parcours « Ecritures critiques, recherche et didactique de l’image » a pour objectif de former les Licenciés, en études cinématographiques ou d’autres horizons, par des compétences et des connaissances disciplinaires et scientifiques supplémentaires et approfondies.

 

Pédagogie

  • AIMS

    The course « Critical writing, research and didactics of the image » aims to train Licentiates, in cinematographic studies or other horizons, with additional and in-depth disciplinary and scientific skills and knowledge. These are necessary for the exercise of professions in the fields of research, development, production, media or teaching, which have to deal with complex problems and find constantly innovative solutions. The main areas of teaching are The course will focus on the history of film and audiovisual art, theories of art, screenwriting, education in and through the image, experimental practices in institutions, training and research in film and audiovisual art.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    Licence in Performing Arts or Film Studies, or any other Licence that can be integrated into the scientific landscape of research in film and audiovisual at AMU (Philosophy, Anthropology, History of Art). In all cases, a good knowledge of the fundamentals of film and audiovisual (history of film, analysis of audiovisual, general and artistic culture) is expected.

    The student will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the fundamentals of film and audiovisual.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    A good command of the French language is recommended, moreover, in order to benefit fully from the teaching of scientific research on cinema and audiovisuals, in a course where the study of images plays a central role;The course is designed to enable students to fully benefit from scientific research on film and audiovisual studies, in a field in which the study of images plays a central role, but also to enable students to prepare themselves as well as possible for their future integration into the professional world.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

    The course « Ecritures critiques, recherche et didactique de l » offers training provided by a team of teacher-researchers recognised as specialists in their field (aesthetics, theory, anthropology, research through film). It also facilitates the enrolment of students in the world of living research, especially through its strong affiliation with the research programmes of LESA (Laboratoire d'Etudes en Sciences des Arts, EA 3274).

    The programme is based on the concept of the "art" as a form of research, which is the basis for the development of the art and culture of a country.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Develop a personal research project on film and audiovisual media.
    • The project will be based on the analysis of current and past filmic forms and their signifying processes, the knowledge and experience of film and audiovisual media.
    • Question current and past filmic forms through the analysis of works and their signifying processes, knowledge and experimentation of their mode of making and distribution.
    • To implement knowledge-producing research and writing strategies or to develop a theoretical reflection and pedagogical practice concerning moving images.
    • To analyse the environment of moving images and their processes of meaning, knowledge and experimentation of their mode of production and dissemination.

  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    The work placement, supervised by a university professor, plays an essential role in the integration of students into professional life, in continuity with the teaching provided in the course. It also enables students to enrich their reasoning and scientific mind by confronting them with the context and difficulties of the concrete field and the subject matter of image and sound.

    The internship leads to a report submitted to the evaluation.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

    The diploma is delivered over two years, each of which is divided into two semesters. Each semester, the courses are spread over 10-12 weeks according to the time volumes. The courses are given either in the form of lectures with the entire class (about 15 students) or in the form of supervised work in smaller groups as part of the experimentation and in-depth theory of film and audiovisual studies courses. Each course is evaluated at the end of the semester.

    Proceedings schedule:                   

    March 1 to April 18, 2023: Application deadline
    April to June 2023: Review of applications by institutions
    June 19 to July 17, 2023: Admission phase (transmission of admission proposals to applicants and response from applicants to these proposals)
    Until 20 July 2023: Administrative registration with the institutions, according to the timetable set by each institution.
