L’objectif du parcours ISME est de former des médiateurs scientifiques en environnement. Le médiateur scientifique facilite l’émergence de processus visant à développer des postures de « passeurs de frontières » entre scientifiques et les acteurs de la société civile, les entreprises, les collectivités territoriales.

AIMS
The professionals thus trained within the IMST master's degree collect specialised information, process it and format it to meet the requirements of their target audience. The target audiences of this action and the recipients of the processed information are of two main types:
Information non disponible- citizens, environmental actors, territorial collectivities, study offices, public and private laboratories, for the Scientific Information and M&E in Environments (ISME) pathway;
- Scientists, researchers and other professionals
- decision-makers, R&D project managers, product managers, for the Technological Watch and Innovation (VTI) course
The ISME pathway is delivered as a prerequisite course. The VTI course is delivered in distance learning via the University's EAD platform.

In addition to the specific competences of each pathway, the IMST Master's degree:
The IMST Master's degree will be awarded in the following ways
- Understands the information needs of the applicant, deploys an adapted scientific information gathering strategy, transmits relevant and exploitable information to citizens and economic and institutional actors
- És communication strategies and plans, transmits the results of its action by adapting the modalities of its communication to the practices of its audience, produces summaries and presents them in a clear language adapted to the requirements of the interlocutors met
- Creates and formats documentary content on different media
- Directs a research or technology watch project: analyses the applicant's needs, moderates the various tasks, allocates the necessary resources to carry out the project, leads it to completion and evaluates its results
- Leads a collaborative project: sets up teams, follows up on achievements, exchange times, final feedback
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
A tutored project of mediation or monitoring (depending on the course) will be carried out in M1. In M2, an internship of 4-6 months is compulsory.

The IMST master's degree works in companies, territorial collectivities, associations for the promotion of the environment, or any structure that needs access to scientific, processed and validated information. The target groups are in particular:
- scientific mediator in the field of culture and transfer of scientific information, education and the environment,
- and
- technology watch officer, STI analyst, watch animator, patent watch officer.
