Laboratories, Federations

The Faculty of Science brings together 29 research structures, in association with major research organizations such as the CNRS, Inserm and CEA. It has an exceptional research potential: more than 1000 researchers and ITAs, more than 800 teacher-researchers, about 200 Iatss in the laboratories, more than 700 doctoral students in 6 doctoral schools.

Research Federations bring together several research units. Their aim is to pool resources (doctoral training, computing resources, scientific documentation) or requests for resources from local authorities, and to promote scientific initiatives (...).

Technological platforms

Aix-Marseille University and its partners (CNRS, INSERM) have created the label "Technological Platforms of the Aix-Marseille site".

The aim of the labelled platforms is to provide the scientific community and the socio-economic world with state-of-the-art infrastructures for the execution of research contracts, partnership collaborations or external services

The European Research Council (ERC) promotes research of the highest quality in Europe through competitive funding and supports exploratory research by researchers in all fields, based on scientific excellence. In particular, the ERC encourages proposals that cross disciplinary boundaries, pioneering ideas that address new and emerging areas and applications that introduce unconventional and innovative approaches.

The Faculty of Science is proud to have several winners of this highly competitive grant programme working in its affiliated research centres.
