Laboratoires, Fédérations

La Faculté des Sciences rassemble 30 structures de recherche, en association avec les grands organismes de recherche tels que le CNRS, l’Inserm et le CEA. Elle dispose d’un potentiel recherche d’exception : plus de 1000 chercheurs et ITA, plus de 900 enseignants-chercheurs, environ 200 Iatss dans les laboratoires, plus de 700 doctorants au sein de 7 écoles doctorales.

Les Fédérations de Recherche regroupent plusieurs unités de recherche. Leur but est de mutualiser des moyens (formations doctorales, moyens de calcul, documentation scientifique) ou des demandes de moyens auprès des collectivités, et de favoriser des initiatives scientifiques (...).

Les plateformes technologiques

Aix-Marseille Université et ses partenaires (CNRS, INSERM) ont créé le label « Plateformes Technologiques du site d'Aix-Marseille ».

Les plateformes labellisées ont pour objectif de mettre à disposition de la communauté scientifique et du monde socio-économique des infrastructures de pointe pour l’exécution de contrats de recherche, de collaborations partenariales ou des prestations de services externes

Le Conseil européen de la recherche (CER) encourage la recherche de la plus haute qualité en Europe par le biais d'un financement concurrentiel et soutient la recherche exploratoire menée par les chercheurs dans tous les domaines, sur la base de l'excellence scientifique. En particulier, l'ERC encourage les propositions qui dépassent les frontières disciplinaires, les idées pionnières qui abordent des domaines nouveaux et émergents et les applications qui introduisent des approches non conventionnelles et innovantes.
La Faculté des sciences est fière d'avoir plusieurs lauréats de ce programme de subvention hautement compétitif travaillant dans ses centres de recherche affiliés.
