  • AIMS




    The aim of the Process and Bioprocessing Management specialisation is to train senior managers who can intervene in all fields concerning the transformation of materials and energy, whether at the level of the process or the energy;It aims to train senior executives who can intervene in all fields concerning the processes of transformation of materials and energy, whether at the level of design, research and development or production. In the second year, a choice of options allows students to move towards a specialisation in the management of processes applied to the treatment of effluents or towards the field of nuclear power.

    The first year of the course is devoted to the management of the effluent treatment process.

    Graduates move on to engineering jobs, ranging from production to research and development, or in the public research sector. The Master's training allows students not only to gain access to the classic application sectors of Process Management (chemistry, cosmetics, fine chemistry, etc.), but also to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of industrial chemistry;) and also to sectors related to waste, sustainable development and environment (purification plants, nuclear power plants, etc.).).

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

    M1 accessible on evaluation of the file to students having validated a Chemistry Licence of the AMU or elsewhere with a L3 course in Process Management. Possibly students holding a chemistry and/or physics degree with sufficient skills in chemistry, physics and mathematics, as well as holders of an SPI degree, course in Process Engineering.

    M2 accessible on evaluation of the file to students having validated a M1.

  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

    This Master's degree is made up of a course in Process Management. The M1 is a common core. It includes competences in terms of disciplinary content, as well as the construction of the student's professional project and the learning of English. In the second year, a UE is proposed with options oriented towards research. Two UE are optional: either oriented towards effluent treatment processes and sustainable development, or oriented towards the nuclear field.

  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

    The Master's degree in Process Management is supported by the M2P2 laboratory (Molecular Mechanics, Modelling and Clean Processes, UMR Aix Marseille University, CNRS, Ecole Centrale Marseile, m2p2.fr).

  • KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED

    The training is generalist in Procedural Engineering, drawing on the most recent developments in the discipline. More specifically, both the basic knowledge necessary for understanding the phases of the process and the processes involved in the process are taught;nes involved in the processes (transfers, thermodynamics...) as well as implementation applications (unit operations, waste processing...).

    In parallel, some tools and methods necessary for engineering work are also addressed (experimental research methodology, modelling and simulation of processes, extrapolation...). More generally, knowledge related to the professional world (whether in public research or in private companies) is also addressed, from aspects of occupational safety to professional ethics.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Design, pilot and coordinate the implementation and improvement of industrial processes for the transformation of materials and energy through the application of multidisciplinary, theoretical and experiential knowledge.
    • Identify and analyse a problem and respond to it in a constructed, justified and argued manner.
    • Identify and analyse a problem and respond to it in a constructed, justified, argued and autonomous manner.
    • Conceive and carry out a project in Process Management independently, individually or in the context of leading a team.
    • Lead, develop and implement multi-disciplinary, multi-scale and extrapolation research.
    • Develop a professional project facilitating integration into the industrial environment and/or a research laboratory, through the implementation of clean and safe processes with a view to sustainable development.
  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    Project in M1 : sizing of a unit operation of an industrial installation. Two internship periods (research or industrial): at the end of M1 (more than 2 months) and in the second semester of M2 (more than 5 months). These activities are the subject of written and oral reports in French and/or English.

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR ACADEMIC CHOICES

    Students have access to all the resources made available by the University. Throughout the course, a professional integration assistance course is offered during the first three semesters, helping students to establish their skills assessment. In parallel, M2 allows for a progressive specialisation in the fields of sustainable development and nuclear energy.

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR LABOR MARKET INTEGRATION

    Students have access to the means made available by the University. Throughout the training, a UE of professional insertion assistance is proposed during the first three semesters, helping the student to establish his skills assessment and assisting him in his search for an internship and a job.

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR STUDIES ABROAD

    Regular exchanges take place with foreign universities, in particular Kumamoto University, Complutense University of Madrid, Valladolid University, Salerno University, TUHH University, Hamburg University, etc. These exchanges often take place on M1 or M2 laboratory placements, and over one or two semesters.
