Harassment, social media, LGBTphobia, sexism, and gender-based and sexual violence: SpRE offers first-year students an interactive awareness-raising session through forum theater.
As it does every year, the Office for Respect and Equality (SpRE) supports students as they return to campus. With support from the Office of the Vice President for Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination, the SpRE, in partnership with the Synergies Théâtre theater company, is offering a participatory format to address situations of harassment and discrimination that students may face.
All first-year students will participate in a 1.5-hour session, organized in groups of approximately 200 students and integrated into their class schedule. Through role-playing exercises and discussions with the audience, forum theater encourages students to examine their own behaviors, better identify situations of violence or discrimination, and collectively reflect on ways to take action.
The performances will take place:
- on the morning of September 21 in Luminy,
- all day on September 22 in St. Charles,
- on the morning of September 23 in Aix and the afternoon of September 23 in St. Jérôme.
Teachers and staff who wish to do so may also attend the performances. Training sessions led by Synergies Théâtre and designed for staff at Aix-Marseille University are also available through GeForP.
