- Presentation of the Festival: the Lumexplore Festival is a scientific and environmental exploration film festival created 6 years ago (in 2016) under the aegis of the Society of French Explorers. It takes place every year in La Ciotat.
- Objective of the Festival : this Festival aims, among other things, to introduce the public to scientific and technological innovations through archaeological, oceanographic and space expeditions .... but also to inspire scientific vocations in middle and high school students.
- Dates: This year it will take place from 16 to 19 September.
- In competition with prizes: 12 scientific and/or environmental exploration films (Lumexplore Grand Prize), 6 books (Book Prize), 15 films made by secondary school students (Lumexplore Junior Prize), 5 comic strips (Lumexplore Junior Comic Book Prize)
- Locations :
- The films in competition (12) and out of competition (8) are screened in the Eden Theatre Cinema.
- Conferences and round tables will take place in the Eden Theatre Cinema.
- The free animations will take place on the Place du 8 Mai; 10 stands are planned this year (see project poster). Free visits are also organised on the 7th Continent boat moored opposite the Eden Theatre Cinema.
- Exhibitions are presented in the Chapelle des Pénitents.
- The book stand is located in the courtyard of the Eden Theatre Cinema.
