AIMS
The WUT-AMU Institute at Wuhan University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as the WUT-AMU Institute) is a constituent part of Wuhan University of Technology. It was established by mutual agreement between Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and Aix-Marseille University (AMU) in accordance with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (licence number: MOE42FRA02DNR20181906N). As WUT's first Sino-foreign cooperative educational body, the Institute is a pioneer in the provision of bachelor's and master's degree programmes. The establishment of the Institute is a major educational cooperation project between the Chinese and French governments, announced during the visit to China by French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Édouard Philippe in 2018. Its enrolment programme is included in the national plan available to all higher education institutions. Admitted students are enrolled at both WUT and AMU. The Institute's student intake is capped at 1,200 students, comprising 240 undergraduate students and 80 postgraduate students per academic year.
Principle : Both parties are committed to bringing together educational resources of the highest quality, training some of the world's best students, and creating social value.
Objective : guided by the principle of ‘open-mindedness, great tolerance, innovation and team spirit', the aim is to train high-calibre students with an international outlook who are well-versed in both Chinese and Western cultures, possess an innovative spirit and professional skills aimed at excellence.
Education : bringing together the best teaching resources, the programmes are drawn up and approved by both parties and are delivered jointly by Chinese and French teaching teams. As regards the courses, at least one-third of the major is taught by lecturers seconded to WUT by AMU.

Admitted students enrol at both Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) and Aix-Marseille University (AMU). All Bachelor's degree students who meet the requirements will be awarded the certificate of completion and the corresponding Bachelor's degree from both universities, without being required to undertake their studies at the French institution.
