  • AIMS

After a first year in the Marie Curie scientific portal and the last two years of the bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Measurement Science (ISM), graduates will be able to use a multi-technology approach combining metrology, instrumentation, data acquisition and processing, analyse and understand the physical measurement and instrumentation solutions used in the design of complex systems, particularly in the fields of electronics, automation and electrical engineering.

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

To progress to the third year of the SPI Bachelor's degree at ISM, students must have previously studied the following subjects (at the L2 SPI or Physics level):
    - Mechanics and kinematics of a point
    - Fluid statics
    - Thermodynamics
    - Geometric optics
    - Mathematical tools at engineering science level
    - Numerical calculation tools (programming in Python)

  • FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES

    - Communication tools
    - English

  • LEARNING SITES

    • SCIENCES, Marseille St-Jérôme
  • LEARNING AND RESEARCH

Discover the activities of research laboratories through seminars led by lecturers and tutored projects (bibliographic research and/or laboratory work). Compulsory third-year internship/project with the option of completing it within a research laboratory.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Analyse and understand the physical measurement and instrumentation solutions used in the design of multi-technology systems, particularly in the fields of electronics, automation and electrical engineering
    • Develop a systematic and rigorous scientific approach to implement an appropriate solution in response to a problem related to a multi-technology system
    • Present or write, in a structured, concise, clear and rigorous manner, a critical argument based on a scientific document or technical documentation, in French or English at an intermediate level
    • Develop and implement an individual or group project related to engineering sciences, using project management methodologies that promote the presentation and sharing of results

  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

An internship of at least six weeks is included in the ISM bachelor's degree programme at the end of S6, which can take place in a company or academic laboratory. Team projects are also assessed for two modules in S5.

  • SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS

Teaching on the ISM degree programme is based on a balance between lectures, illustrated with practical examples in tutorials, and, in some cases, leading to practical application in practical sessions and/or team projects.
