The STAAE master's degree trains high-level executives 1/ capable of implementing a global quality approach in the agri-food industry (QSA course) or 2/ in the research and biotechnology sectors of photosynthetic organisms and associated organisms for the green and sustainable economy (BBE course).
Pedagogy
AIMS
The STAAE master's degree trains highly qualified graduates capable of:
• Working in the public or private sectors in the fields of quality, safety and food science and technology (QSA pathway) or in the fields of biology and plant and fungal biotechnologies (BVBE pathway).
• Integrating environmental, sustainable development and corporate social responsibility issues into their activities.
TARGETED STUDENTS
Public interested in continuing or restarting studies in the fields of agricultural, food and environmental science and technology.
STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION
The training is divided into activities for the acquisition of scientific and technical knowledge and the development of personal and professional skills, as well as activities involving practical experience. Two internships in industry or in a research laboratory, of 2 to 4 months and 5 to 6 months, are carried out by the student in Master 1 and Master 2 respectively. The 1st semester courses of the 2 courses BBE and QSA are 80% common.
KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
Graduates of the QSA course will be able, among other skills:
• to install or lead and improve a global food quality and safety management system, in accordance with health, socio-economic, legislative and environmental issues,
• to successfully lead a research and development project or an analysis and/or control strategy in the food sector, or to continue their studies in a doctorate in the fields of nutrition, toxicology and food science.
Graduates of the BVBE course will be able to apply the concepts, methods and techniques of plant, algae, fungi and microorganism biology and biotechnology in a research approach consistent with the issues of environmental biotechnology and sustainable development.
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
Compulsory internships in M1 (8-20 weeks) and M2 (24-36 weeks) carried out, at the student's choice, either in a public or private professional structure or in a research structure. Specific group tutored projects in each course.
SUPPORT FOR YOUR ACADEMIC CHOICES
Advice and personalised support for students is provided through introductory courses and preparation for professional life, taught by representatives of their future careers, and individual interviews with the teaching staff, enabling them to formalise the course of study that best corresponds to their expectations and profile, and thus make a success of their professional project.
SUPPORT FOR YOUR LABOR MARKET INTEGRATION
The teaching staff and the BAIP assist students in their search for internships and/or jobs by providing them with offers and a catalogue of partner companies/laboratories. The professional integration rate of students is monitored by internal and OVE surveys at 6 months.
SUPPORT FOR YOUR STUDIES ABROAD
The Master's programme promotes international exchanges by offering 6 to 9 compulsory English credits, teaching of modules in English, internships abroad strongly encouraged in M1 and M2 and the hosting of students in the framework of Erasmus exchanges, Campus France and JCS international agreements.
