AIMS
The master provides an advanced scientific curriculum on human cognition, as well as technological and methodological expertise in the evaluation, analysis and modeling of cognitive processes. Brain imaging technologies and computational methods are at the core of the master. The master is supported by the ILCB (Institute for Language, Communication and the Brain), which brings together 9 research laboratories and cutting-edge experimental platforms to study the neural and cognitive bases of language and communication.
FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
The training is provided in English and a good knowledge of written and spoken English is therefore required.
FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
In addition to your initial training, you should have an interest in the various aspects of cognitive science and be willing to increase your knowledge in computer science and statistics.
LEARNING AND RESEARCH
The master's program is based on training in and through research. Bringing together researchers and non-academic actors in the field, the master leads to both academic and non-academic high-skilled jobs.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
- Design a research project in cognitive science
- Integrate transdisciplinary fundamental knowledge
- Mobilize fundamental knowledge from different disciplines (psychology, linguistics, neuroscience, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, epistemology)
- Implement a research approach in a professional context
Test/evaluate products and services from a wide range of sectors involving cognitive technologies, using knowledge, methods and tools from cognitive science
Develop a personal project based on the skills acquired in the field of cognitive science and practical training experience (internships/workshops/seminars) aimed at facilitating professional integration while respecting the ethical principles associated with the practice of cognitive science.
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
Students gain essential practical experience through two key internships. The first internship (120 hours) takes place during Year 1. It allows students to get an initial immersion in the professional world. The second internship is longer (500 hours) and takes place during Year 2. This extended period provides students with the opportunity to develop specialized skills, forge professional connections, and immerse more deeply into their field of study.
Internships are a vital component of the master, and can be done in both the private and public sectors. With access to cutting-edge research laboratories, our students have the chance to participate in exciting projects. Additionally, our extensive network includes partnerships with both SMEs and large enterprises such as SNCF, providing students with the chance to do an internship in national companies.
Students also carry out projects as part of certain courses (Experimental research platforms and Scientific workshop in particular).
