AIMS
The Métiers de l'instrumentation, de la mesure et du contrôle qualité (MIMC) major offers training for intermediate technical managers, deputy project managers, and study or intervention technicians.
It targets first-time entrants at an intermediate level immediately below management occupations, in the field of multi-technology production specialisms.
The training base common to the three pathways aims to achieve the following objectives in terms of diploma skills:
- contribute to the development of multi-sector applications and industrial projects by mobilising multi-disciplinary scientific and technological knowledge in Métrology, Instrumentation, Automatism and Process Control,
- participate in the stages of a project in Métrologie, Instrumentation, Automatismes et Contrôle de procédés, in particular à the analysis of the industrial need, à the proposal or à the design of the technical solution and à the management of its implementation,
- communicate effectively in French and English, using and drafting technical documents and presenting a project orally in a structured and reasoned manner,
- introduce an overall project or independently manage all or part of an operational project in Métrology, Instrumentation/Automation Design Office or Control/Command, interacting within a team,
- carry out métrological work, conduct études or develop Contrôle solutions for processeséd to meet industrial needs by mastering associated méthologies, technologies and scientific principles,
FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
Information non disponibleFUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
Recruitment is based on a portfolio and a selection interview. The curriculum in general scientific subjects, in particular mathematics and physical sciences, is analysed to ensure a minimum level with regard to the prerequisites of the programme. Results in the technical disciplines are highlighted in relation to the targeted pathway. A great deal of emphasis is placed on the applicant's motivation and vision of his or her career plan and its relevance to the proposed course. The candidate's ability to express himself/herself in French or English may be a factor in the selection of candidates. Lastly, behaviour and attendance during previous studies and the quality of work placement activities or in-company experience are examined in relation to the professionalisation requirements of the course, in particular the sandwich course.

LEARNING AND RESEARCH
While there is no direct link between professional licences and research laboratories, the support laboratories for the MIMC professional licence are essentially the following physics laboratories: IM2NP (www.im2np.fr), PIIM (http://piim.univ-amu.fr/), Institut Fresnel (http://www.fresnel.fr), research units that are nationally and internationally recognised. The degree is also supported by the joint CEA/AMU LIMMEX Laboratory (Laboratory for Instrumentation and Measurement in Extreme Environments). The support provided by the laboratories takes the form of the participation of teacher-researchers, researchers and engineers, the involvement of their network in proposing lectures, their representation on the continuing education council, and the occasional participation of students in international conferences.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
Graduates following the Industrial Métology (MI) pathway must also êbe able to :
- implement legal and industrial métrology activities as part of the management of a fleet of instruments or services for industry.
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
- The work placement is for a minimum of 12 weeks (which may be extended to a longer period). It is the culmination of teaching at the vocational bachelor's degree centre, in both initial and continuing training. Its aim is to put into practice, in a work experience situation, the skills acquired during the course and the tutorial project. The work placement leads to the writing of a dissertation, the content of which is assessed by the work placement supervisor, and a presentation, which is assessed by a jury made up of university lecturers and industrialists. The professionalisation activity can also be carried out as part of a sandwich course (15 days in a company/15 days in a university centre over the course of a year), this activity also gives rise to the drafting of a report;an activity report, assessed by the apprenticeship master, as well as a viva voce assessed by an audition panel made up of university lecturers and industrialists.
L'alternance en entreprise : Following à l'entretien individuel avec le candidat : examenésultats académiques, et des motivations pour l'alternance. After the student has been admitted to the LP (1-year apprenticeship or professionalisation contract, alternating 15 days in the company/15 days at the university centre) :
- search for companies (from June à November) assisted by the professional degree management.
- contact of the candidate with one or more recruiters depending on his/her profile
- final decision on the recruitment of the apprentice by the company.
The project is organised in the second semester, lasting 140 h and capitalising on 12 ECTS credits. It provides an opportunity to apply the various concepts studied, both theoretically and practically, in a context of tutored autonomy;e, i.e. supervised by a teaching team, and with the means of accessing the training à its documentary resource centre.
SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS
The MIMC professional degree is structured around the three pathways indicated below:
