CPGE students - Conditions of access to Faculty of Science bachelor's degrees

Students from the Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Ecoles (CPGE) have access to university under the conditions set out below, as defined in the framework agreement between the Rectorat, the University and the Académie's lycées. To benefit from the programs described below, you must register with the University at the start of the school year, in parallel with your CPGE enrolment, in accordance with the procedures communicated to your lycée by the University.

The faculty's pedagogical committee will study your file and, depending on your date of arrival at university and your results in the CPGE, will decide on the number of credits to be awarded. There are 2 possible ways of obtaining your L1 or L2: validation or exemption.

  • Validation - Reorientation during the academic year 2025-2026

Validation applies to reorientations during the year (during the first semester, for example). This is a personal decision on your part: at any time during your CPGE studies, you can continue your studies at the Faculty of Science and sit the exams.

You must follow the reorientation procedure at the end of the first semester: https: //sciences.univ-amu.fr/fr/candidatures-inscriptions/se-reorienter#section-17655.

You must go to the Registrar's Office on the site where you wish to take your bachelor's degree courses, to modify your administrative registration and to register for your course. It is at this point, depending on your CPGE course, that the head of the year will define the teaching units on which you will be assessed and, if applicable, those that will be validated directly without a knowledge test.

Please note that, to take part in an examination session, you must register one month before the start of the session.

    Consult the licensing calendar.

  • Exemption - Admission at the end of the CPGE year at the start of the 2026-2027 academic year

This exemption is granted by the UFR Sciences Pedagogical Commission, for students enrolled twice at AMU. It enables you, provided that the class council has validated your preparatory class course, to access university studies at various bachelor's degree levels.

    Conditions :

    1. Access to L2

Students who have completed the 1st year of CPGE can obtain an exemption to enter the 2nd year of a scientific bachelor's degree, provided they meet the following conditions:

    • holding 60 ECTS credits obtained with at least a D grade, including in the dominant subjects required for further study
    • a favorable recommendation from the home institution
    • a favorable opinion from the UFR Sciences pedagogical committee.
    1. Access to L3

A 2nd year student can obtain a dispensation to access the L3 scientific bachelor's program, subject to meeting the following conditions:

    • 120 ECTS credits obtained with at least grade D, including in the major subjects required for further study
    • have received a favorable recommendation from the home institution
    • a favorable opinion from the UFR Sciences pedagogical committee.

Students who have repeated a 2nd year of CPGE may apply to the relevant UFR pedagogical committee for a modified course for the license in question.

  • Exemption procedure (reorientation at the end of the academic year)

The reorientation campaign for CPGE students enrolled in parallel at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Aix Marseille for the 2025/2026 academic year opens on May 11, 2026.

This scheme concerns CPGE students who wish to transfer to the Faculty of Science.

This is a request for an exemption, not for the award of university credits.

A dematerialized procedure has been set up to process exemption requests.

If you are enrolled in two courses and would like to submit an exemption request to the Faculty of Science:

    • Log on to the E-candidat application https://candidatures.univ-amu.fr/candidatures/#!accueilView
    • Create an account on this platform
    • Once your account has been activated and your profile filled in, select "nouvelle candidature" in the "candidature" section, then "Passerelle réservée aux étudiants CPGE en double inscription" in the "offre de formation, faculté des sciences" section.
    • Submit the required documents directly on the platform and download the exemption request from this area
    • Complete the exemption request, have it endorsed and signed by the class council or school committee.
    • Retrieve and submit the signed exemption request on E-candidat, along with the other supporting documents.
    • Once your application is complete, click on "Submit my application".

The platform will be open from May 11, 2026 to June 14, 2026 inclusive. Please note that this tool will not allow any delays.

The pedagogical committee of the Faculty of Science will examine your application individually. The result of this examination will be notified to you by e-mail via E-candidat from July 7, 2026. As soon as you receive this notification, you must proceed with your administrative registration.
