AIMS
The Physics-Chemistry degree aims to:
- Develop a solid foundation of knowledge and skills in physics, chemistry and the interface between the two.
- Enhance mastery of formal and digital languages and languages.
- Develop an autonomous and rigorous scientific approach based on solid experimental skills and knowledge.
- Allowing students to mature their orientation by developing reflection, critical thinking and initiative useful for further study (master's degree, engineering school).
FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
Scientific baccalaureate holders Admission to L2 and L3 for students from scientific training courses (CPGE, BTS, BUT) is possible on the basis of applications.
FUNDAMENTAL PREREQUISITES
The Physics, Chemistry pathway of the Physics, Chemistry degree requires veryès good skills in physics and chemistry as well as a good level in mathématiques. Students are required to have at least the level of all the modules of L1, Marie Curie portal.
LEARNING AND RESEARCH
By virtue of its fundamental training vocation leading in particular to the métiers of Research, the Physics-Chemistry degree offers the opportunity to carry out laboratory experiments and work placements à all levels of training.
To achieve this, the Physics-Chemistry degree draws on the broad and diversified potential of the Physics and Chemistry departments at Aix-Marseille university. The teacher-researchers involved in this course combine fundamental teaching with the challenges of current research and its applications beyond the public sector
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED
The Physics, Chemistry » pathway provides students with the background to solve problems in physics, chemistry » and their interfaces through the mobilisation and articulation of fundamental knowledge and know-how specific » to these two disciplines.
The specific skills developed in this pathway are:
- Recovering physico-chemical problems;
- Transmit the fundamental knowledge of Chemistry, Physics and the interface between the two ; in a rigorous and pedagogical manner
- Mobilise your disciplinary knowledge in Physics and Chemistry to argue and solve a problem in a bi-disciplinary way.
INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS
The Physics and Chemistry programme does not include a compulsory work placement. A non-compulsory placement in one of the laboratories associated with the course may, however, be undertaken under the terms of an agreement between the university and the host organisation.
SPECIFIC TEACHING CONDITIONS
The Physics and Chemistry programme includes lectures (maximum 80 students), tutorials and practical work in small groups. The course places great emphasis on the use of innovative teaching methods and active teaching methods (project or problem-based approaches, inverted classes, etc.);mes, inverted classes), as well as ICTE (online resources and tools for communicating with students, assessment tests, digital remediation).
The degree is on an integrated continuous assessment basis.

scientific mediationIn the case of further study, the licence Physique-Chimie provides access to all the masters degreesà the interface between these two complementary disciplines;this pathway provides access to all masters degrees at the interface between these two complementary disciplines, whether they be masters that prepare students for teaching (MEEF, Agrégation), or masters that focus on the sciences of matter and materials. This pathway can also be used to join transdisciplinary masters degrees in science or the environment. The most highly motivated students with suitable results will be able to enter Ecole Centrale Marseille on the basis of a portfolio, as well as other engineering colleges via the B competitive entrance exams.
